Policies and statements
The policies housebuilders ask for at supplier onboarding, in one place. Our full health and safety policy, supplier code of conduct, equality, data protection, business continuity, complaints and whistleblowing policies are available on request from hello@plotmagpie.co.uk.
Health and safety policy statement
Plot Magpie Limited supplies housebuilders with fixtures, fittings, ecology products and site sundries, and delivers them to construction sites. We will protect the health and safety of everyone affected by our work: our own people, site teams, customers, suppliers and the public, in line with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
To do this we will:
- assess the risks of what we do and put sensible controls in place, including for deliveries to site, manual handling, driving and lone working
- follow each site's rules, induction and traffic management plan, and work within the principal contractor's arrangements under CDM 2015
- wear the PPE each site requires and unload only where we are directed
- supply products that are safe and fit for purpose, with the manufacturer's safety and installation information
- provide information, instruction and training so that work is done safely
- keep vehicles, equipment and handling aids in safe condition
- record and learn from every accident and near miss, and report under RIDDOR where required
- review this policy every year, and after any serious incident or significant change
Our full health and safety policy, with responsibilities and arrangements, is available on request.

Environmental policy
Plot Magpie exists to cut the number of suppliers, deliveries and packaging loads a housebuilder needs. That is also how we make our biggest environmental difference. We will comply with environmental law, including our waste duty of care, and keep reducing our impact year on year.
- Fewer vehicle movements. We consolidate items from many suppliers into one delivery per site visit, plan routes, and time deliveries to the build programme.
- Less packaging on site. We remove excess outer packaging before delivery where we can, reuse cartons and pallets, and take back our own packaging when asked.
- Responsible waste. We use licensed waste carriers only and separate cardboard, plastics and metals for recycling.
- Better products. Where the specification allows, we offer recycled-content, longer-lasting and repairable products, and FSC or PEFC certified timber.
- Supporting biodiversity. We supply bat, bird, swift and bee bricks and boxes and hedgehog highways that help housebuilders meet ecology conditions and biodiversity net gain.
- Energy and travel. We maintain our vehicles, avoid idling, and will consider electric or hybrid vehicles when we replace them.
- Suppliers. We prefer suppliers with their own environmental commitments.

Modern slavery and human trafficking statement
Plot Magpie Limited has zero tolerance of modern slavery, forced labour, child labour and human trafficking in our business and our supply chains. Our turnover is below the £36 million threshold in section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, so this statement is voluntary. It covers the financial year to 31 October 2027.
Our business and supply chains
We are a UK private limited company that sources and supplies fixtures, fittings, ecology products and site sundries to housebuilders. We buy from UK manufacturers, distributors, builders' merchants, DIY retailers and online marketplaces. Most of our direct suppliers are UK businesses, but many products are made overseas. We see the highest risk in low-cost goods from online marketplaces where the maker is hard to identify; textiles, rubber, plastic, electronic and metal goods made in higher-risk countries; and logistics and agency labour.
Due diligence
- We prefer established manufacturers and distributors with published modern slavery statements or ethical trading policies.
- Regular suppliers are asked to confirm our supplier code of conduct.
- We avoid marketplace sellers we cannot identify where a known-brand alternative exists.
- We ask questions and seek alternatives when a price looks too low to be legitimate.
- Anyone who works for us is paid at least the National Living Wage and has their right to work checked.
If we find a problem
We will investigate, work with the supplier to put it right, and stop trading with any supplier that will not. We will report suspected modern slavery to the police or the Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline (08000 121 700).
Measuring progress
Each year we will report the share of regular suppliers who have confirmed our code of conduct, any concerns raised and how they were resolved.
This statement was approved by the Director of Plot Magpie Limited on 15 October 2026.

Ethical sourcing and supplier code
We source from many small and large suppliers so our customers don't have to, which makes us responsible for checking those suppliers on their behalf. Every supplier we buy from regularly is asked to confirm that they:
- treat workers fairly: no forced, bonded or child labour, no recruitment fees charged to workers, at least the legal minimum wage
- provide safe workplaces
- supply safe, genuine products that meet UK standards and markings, and tell us promptly about any recall
- act honestly: no bribes, kickbacks or false descriptions of origin or certification
- comply with environmental law and tell us about recycled content and certified timber
- handle personal data in line with UK data protection law
- apply the same standards to their own suppliers
We keep a list of supplier confirmations and review suppliers each year. We will stop buying from any supplier who won't put a serious problem right. Our full supplier code is available on request.
Anti-bribery and corruption policy
Plot Magpie Limited does not offer, pay, request or accept bribes in any form, and does not facilitate tax evasion. This reflects the Bribery Act 2010 and the Criminal Finances Act 2017, and applies to everyone who works for us or on our behalf.
- No payments, gifts, hospitality or favours given or received to win or keep business, and no facilitation payments of any size.
- Modest, occasional gifts under £50 only; anything more needs Director approval and is recorded. We follow any customer's stricter rules on gifts to their staff.
- Prices, discounts and rebates are agreed openly and shown on invoices. We pay no undisclosed commissions.
- Concerns can be raised in confidence with the Director, and nobody will suffer for refusing to pay a bribe.

Quality policy
Our aim is the right item, in the right quantity, at the right plot, on the day it was promised, first time.
- Every order is checked against your list or specification and confirmed in writing, normally within one working day.
- Products are supplied to the make, model and finish specified. Any substitute is agreed with you in writing first.
- We buy from reputable manufacturers and check markings and documents (UKCA or CE, data sheets, installation guides, warranties).
- Goods are inspected on arrival and again before delivery, and labelled by plot when you ask.
- Deliveries are booked into your site's slots, and we tell the site manager in advance about any delay.
- We keep proof of delivery and product data sheets for your handover and planning records.
- Problems are acknowledged within one working day, put right quickly, and reviewed so they don't happen twice.
